A NEW ERA AT OLD PARLIAMENT HOUSE
Welcome to HOI POLLOI
Located in Old Parliament House, HOI POLLOI is housed in what was once the Non-Members Bar, an infamous haunt of staffers, media and service workers alike – in fact it was the only place in the building where the “hoi polloi” could actually get a drink.
The beautifully renovated and iconic restaurant, residing just off the House of Representatives Courtyard, is a superb casual dining venue. Fresh produce and local provenance is at the heart of the HOI POLLOI menu, where our approach is something altogether more contemporary, with classic flavours reinvented with modern twists, and continually evolving with the seasons.
With a contemporary dining room that draws inspiration from its art deco heritage, it houses a casual bar area, large communal tables, and views overlooking the gorgeous outdoor area. The new restaurant truly breathes life into a space that has many stories to tell.
HOI POLLOI is open for lunch seven days a week and is the perfect spot for a quick bite to eat or drink at the bar, a special celebration with friends or lunch before or after enjoying the Museum of Australian Democracy at Old Parliament House exhibitions.
Over the Christmas break Hoi Polloi will be closed from the 25th December to 7th January, re-opening on the 8th of January.
